The campaign to save Toxteth Job Centre

I joined workers and residents on their picket line as they fight to save Toxteth job centre.

The decision taken by the Department for Work and Pensions to close the Jobcentre on High Park Street in Toxteth and amalgamate services to their site on Duke Street is ill-gotten and utterly wrong.

This will have a significant impact for local residents who need to access their services, adding additional travel time and come at a greater cost.

I have made clear my objection to this decision and I have raised my concerns with Minister regarding the impact this will have in our community, particularly, as the DWP have outlined vital drop-in services will no longer be available.
