Supporting the RMT’s Rail Cuts Cost Lives campaign

Today I joined colleagues and members of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport workers as they fight for the future of our rail industry.

Rail companies should be investing in infrastructure making travel across the country easier and more accessible. Instead, the Government are overseeing chaos on our railways allowing Network Rail to further cut it’s maintenance & infrastructure budget by £1.2 billion.

These cuts risk passenger safety and put more pressure on already over-stretched services.

I will continue to do all I can to support this campaign and ensure that railways are run in the interests of passengers and not profits.
