Letter to Home Secretary: Request to access Bibby Stockhom barge

Following reports of Legionella bacteria in the water supply of proposed asylum accommodation-the Bibby Stockholm barge- I have signed a letter written by my colleague Clive Lewis MP to the Home Secretary Suella Braverman.

The letter has also been co-signed by my Labour party colleagues Nadia Whittome MP, Olivia Blake MP, Lloyd Russell-Moyle MP, and Paul Sweeney MSP.

We are requesting an urgent visit to assess living conditions for asylum seekers on the Bibby Stockholm barge.

The barge is a symbol of government cruelty and incompetence. Our communities deserve safe, humane asylum accommodation and refugee protection. Our country is better than this.
