Meeting the next generation of Black Trade Union activists

Today in Parliament I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking to the next generation of those involved in the Trade Union Congress’ Black Activist Development course.

The aim of this programme is to identify, empower and enable Black members and activists interested in doing so, to step forward within the trade union movement.

Being in a trade union changed my life- giving me the skills and confidence to develop throughout my working career.

With systemic attacks on workers and working rights over the past 13 years, there has never been a more important time to have the protections at work that the trade union movement provide.

There is power in a union ✊🏽
